Tanner Grim Gov’t

The new proposal for immigration reform in the now obama administration has
become nothing short of a proposal to be questioned on every aspect of seriousness,
because the ship is not full of wholes; but has a lot of cracks. On the statements of recent
weeks since the proposal went up it has been in text no where near a law and probably
wont be for another two years. This in reality because of the land lock position of the two
in charge of bring the comprehensive reform structure to life Sen.Lindsy Graham a,
republican, along with democratic partner in the project sen. Charles schummar. Total
bipartisan cooperation will not be the subject in immigration reform. Graham said “a
debate now would destroy any prospects for passage and that the issue needs to wait until
2012.” This in mind what is being proposed for the much needed immigration reform?

This year has been a year of a few debates, and new law that have almost
completely gone against constitutional principles that radically change the immigration
reform climate. This year’s new Arizona law comes to point when talking about the
Graham Schumer reform proposal. So this is good news to many because Arizona’s
fourth amendment defying law that allows any person under reasonable suspicion or in
many ideas or reality of the fact suspicion upon perception (profiling) maybe null and
void if reform is passed. The text of the reform bill proposals text states the following.
“Because the federal government will have fulfilled its obligation to secure America’s
Borders, state and municipalities will prohibited from enacting their own rules and
penalties relating to immigration, which could undermine federal policies.” This is great,
if the reform isn’t worse than the state government policies that it over rides, but still
good if it puts some kind of unified stable power in the federal government in the case of
immigration.

Another point that the reform proposal hits is the status of immigrant in the
country with work visas. The idea is to create a new work visa category called the H2-c’s.
These visas will allow a lot more freedoms to enforce the laboring safety of immigrants
and their employers. This only allows businesses and employers to only hire immigrants
when they cant hire Americans, which means more business for more American.
Unfortunately Americans still wont work for the same wages as an illegal, but
immigrants here on work visas will be allowed to change jobs without risking losing their
jobs. But regard less there is still the ole slap on the hand fine to hire an immigrant, like
that never deterred employers from hiring from under the radar.

What do we do about the millions of illegal immigrants in the united states? Do
we go ahead the way we have been, and try and deport every single alien? Well for the
millions of illegal immigrant in the country they way we have been taking care of them is
buy just sending them back, does not work. But stated in the proposal, a tough but fair
path forward. They would be required to admit they broke the law and to pay their debt to
society by performing community service and paying fines and back taxes. These people
would be required to pass background checks and be proficient in English before going to
the back of the line of prospective immigrants to earn the opportunity to work toward
lawful permanent residence.”. This would be a problem with almost all immigrants
Because they would have to make up for a lot of finacial debt to the nation but would also
maybe worth what they are working, bettering the lives for themselves and their kin. This
brings the exception of some immigrants who knew how to previously work the system,
and have a strong feeling of admiration and nationality towards the country they try so
hard to be a part of are happy to pay their taxes, and are allowed to do so.

About this whole proposal, is it getting anywhere? Nope. Is it opening the door to
new “actual” and “functioning” immigration policies to take hold of the broken, shattered
contemporary state and federal laws? Since the introduction of Arizona’s civil rights
defying immigration policies our country is screaming past the values of a country built
on immigration. If this was a garden, then we would have just sprayed anti freeze over
our entire thriving and working cultivator species that we need to make are garden turn
into a salad that holds its own individual flavor for every component that it is comprised
of.
